Lankhorst Euronete Brasil – more than a Winning Team

25-04-2023

When Lankhorst Euronete Brasil won SBM Offshore’s ‘Top Vendor - Delivery Performance in Projects’ it was a fitting reward for a hardworking and dedicated team. Importantly for LEB Operations Manager, Alexandre Tomazi, it also recognised the wider role played by everyone across the business in delivering major offshore projects.

SBM Offshore Award - The Winning Team...

2022 was a year of achievements for Lankhorst Euronete Brasil. Alongside production of FPSO mooring lines for deepwater projects, LEB was recognized as ‘Top Vendor - Delivery Performance in Projects’ during the SBM Offshore Vendor's Day. Lankhorst Euronete Brasil has supplied mooring ropes for several SBM Offshore projects in Brazil. “We are immensely proud to have been part of these projects with SBM Offshore. The award reinforces Lankhorst Offshore's dedication to the management of projects from purchase order through to final on-time delivery with total commitment to quality, health, safety and the environment throughout,” said Rui Faria, SVP Maritime & Energy Offshore, Lankhorst Ropes.

Multidisciplinary Team

The challenges of an FPSO mooring system start before the RFQ is even received with all the technical and engineering details that a proposal requires. Before production all project documentation is reviewed and approved by customers and classification societies. This ensures the test scope is defined and provides proof that our design meets the client and class requirements. Once the project manufacturing is concluded, several certification and documentation steps still need to be completed for the project to be ready for delivery.

What next? “We’re here to help the customer with onshore and offshore assistance to ensure proper mooring rope handling and compliance with installation guidelines. At any one time LEB can have as many as four certified engineers working offshore,” notes Alexandre Tomazi.

Innovation Driven

Deepwater mooring is one of the most challenging subsea environments for operators. With larger vessels and deeper waters to contend with, opportunities for innovation are never far away. Recently LEB manufactured its largest rope so far with a Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS) of 1613 mT. And, with the lifecycle of mooring lines in mind, the Lankhorst Offshore global R&D team has also developed and had approved a new rope filter system to eliminate the risk of abrasion in long-term deepwater moorings.

Rui Faria again, “Award winning project delivery combined with globally integrated manufacturing and product development is enabling Lankhorst Offshore to surpass the expectations of companies. Lankhorst Euronete Brasil's achievements are but a few examples of the commitment to excellence in every aspect of our business.
