Deepwater installations support offshore Brasil

26-04-2018

Over the past year, Lankhorst Euronete Brasil (LEB) has supplied engineering services of mooring system and subsea equipment deployments to OOGTK – FPSO Pioneiro de Libra, Teekay – FPSO Petrojarl1 and QGEP – Atlanta project.

For all three projects, LEB’s offshore engineering services acts to ensure proper rope handling and compliance with installation procedures. LEB Project and Technical department employees, Alexandre Tomazi and Eric Duarte, attended the projects on-board of Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels (totalling more than 150 person-days onboard.)

Mooring lines installation for OOGTK FPSO Pioneiro de Libra Project

Lankhorst Euronete Brasil (LEB) representatives acts during mooring ropes pre-deployment and hook-up. The FPSO is used for Long-Duration Tests in the Libra field, a large ultra-deepwater oil prospect located in the Santos Basin, 143 miles (230 km) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The FPSO was moored at 2,040 m water depth using nine mooring lines. Lankhorst for this project has provided two mooring line arrangements of Cabral 512 Deep Water Polyester Mooring Rope with a minimum breaking strength of 12,300 kN.

Lankhorst Euronete Brasil (LEB) representative’s acts during mooring ropes pre-deployment, including VLA anchor installation. The FPSO will be used for production in Atlanta field, an oil prospect located in the Santos Basin, 115 miles (185 km) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The FPSO was moored at 1.500 m water depth using eight mooring lines. Lankhorst for this project has provided one mooring line arrangements of Cabral 512 Deep Water Polyester Mooring Rope with a minimum breaking strength of 8,826 kN.

Subsea equipment’s installation for QGEP Atlanta Project

For this project, Lankhorst Euronete Brasil (LEB) have participated from rope specification to offshore use. This is an innovative application, as use an AHTS installation vessel without dynamic compensation winch for subsea equipment’s deployment at 1.500m water depth.
LEB together with a customer specified a polyamide rope and a range of load where it was possible to install the equipment dissipating the sea movements in the rope. This equipment’s are part of Atlanta oil prospect where will be installed the TEEKAY FPSO Petrojarl.

"Offshore engineering services carried out during 2017 were important milestones, as shows that Lankhorst are able to provide a good service to our clients from the beginning of the project to the installation, we strengthen our technical capacity and market leading position in ultra-deepwater mooring,” says, Alexandre Tomazi, Lankhorst Euronete Brasil Technical and Project Manager.
